Ronnie Montrose Charity Guitar Raffle

On Thursday, September 15, the CCPA and KRVM proudly welcomed the 2011 Montrose Tour featuring legendary guitar god Ronnie Montrose and special guest Michael Lee Firkins. The show kicks off a Charity Guitar Raffle to benefit Eugene's Musician's Emergency Medical Association (MEMA).

Music legends aren't born easily. It has to be just the right band, with just the right sound, coming along at just the right time. After playing with Van Morrison on Tupelo Honey and the Edgar Winter Band on They Only Come Out at Night, Ronnie formed the band Montrose in 1973. The sound was heavy, melodic, no-holds-barred rock and roll. The critics called them: a scorching outfit incredibly impressive part [Jeff] Beck, part Led Zeppelin, and three-fourths nitroglycerin and sheer rock and roll ecstasy.

There were 45 tickets sold for a grand total of $900 raised to benefit local musicians.

The winner of the raffle was Matt Beveridge! Congratulations Matt! To quote mat: ""Tell Ronnie Montrose this guitar will be played......................... ALOT!"
